Band Poster ideas

Kasabian-band-poster.jpgWe used examples of bands like kasabian to present the band we would want to make our director Micheal Burrin has also created more interpretative texts and perhaps not even feature any member of the cover band we intend to use.
FurturtleColdwarkids.jpgSomething like the image shown on the left is what we intend to create.

Ideas and Example for Album cover

These are a few templates we had a look at to give us the final idea for the album cove we would want to eventually use, as you can see below we also have the original cover art by the band bloc party, we aim to emulate that by actually going for a cove that also does not have the band members consisting in it, Although we may actually have to get models for the website of the band, the album or promo cover allows us to express what the video stand for and put it into greater perspective we the detail we put on e cover.

More shots used for Storyboard

These pictures are thumbnails we used to create our storyboard which our tutor made mandatory for completion before we could actually start any shooting, these
consist of the rooftop shot, the dark window shot and a few angles
we aim to put the main characters in.

Rooftop shot

Rooftop Shot final
This image shows the final conclusion we may have come to for the rooftop shot, this allows us to use a location inside the school and still get some get some great scenery, we plan to shoot a scene here either at night or with the camera in night mode so we can easily explore the darkish scenery we want to portray for the emotions of our lead character.

Wilmington Grammar Shots

The staircase shot is in the IT department of our school, this concept puts the main character in a somewhat thinking position and the shot interprets the directors view of what kind of setting we want the individual person to be in,the model in the shot is our team member and assistant director Adam Johnson.

The screen here is the initial idea we had to expose the loneliness of the main character, this concept was to have him in the middle of a few extras as they look up at an edited image on the screen of probably a band performing.

The above image is just an arial shot of the front of our school to emphasize the location in general, tis is the main entrance an just in the background,is the hall which also intend to use for a few shot of the main character in  the video.

Piccadilly Circus Concept

Piccadilly Circus
We had a few other ideas, one of them was to shoot at  the iconic Piccadilly Circus centre in London, the idea was to replace the advert boards with a band performance, this is just an idea at the moment we may eventually discuss the possibility of actualizing the shot. Our director Micheal Burrin believed at this point that we should try all our more realistic ideas and then see if we can fit this scene into the entire story line of the video.

Iphone Shots

IPhone camera shooting
Using the camera from the iphone 3Gs with one of us posseses we plan to shoot some icoic places that would normally be frowned upon if we use and set up a professional camera, so instead of going into the middle of the capital city with huge cameras and tripods we aim to use the iphone camera which despite its little amount of pixels has a suprisingly good quality, making our team less vaulnerable to being halted by the authorities.

Shooting concept 2

Charing Cross station

We plan to edit the giant LED screens at the iconic train station in London and replace it with a band performance, now obviously we wouldn't be allowed to do this literally due to anti-terrorist laws, so we are proposing to have the shots taking in a more casual manner so we can apply this scene to the video as the main character is influenced by the media.

Shooting layouts

Rooftop shot
The rooftop concept is to have a character literally on the roof of  semi-scale building with his feet hanging out as a way of venting his frustration, this shot leys us depict exactly what the lyrics are trying to say but also creates a character the audience can immediately identify once the video begins, the scenery will be dark and littered so we can get the best out of the shots similar to the picture shown on the left.

Initial Concenpt

bloc-party1.jpg

Video Ideas

According to the director we currently aim to create a graphical representation of the music lyrics, Bloc Party seem to be speaking about the paranoia that is gripping the nation due to the foreign threat that immigrants ten to pose, it speaks of terrorism and the use of immigrant workers that are stealing the British peoples jobs. So therefore the initial concept is coming together literally.
